How to pass on sensitive ministry information for domestic abuse, drug abuse, and pornography addition help

Church Ministry Business Cards
A tastefully done business card can let people know about ministries that can help them in challenging life situations.

Our world hurts. People hurt each other and they hurt themselves.

The good news of the gospel is there is healing for every hurt available in Jesus and given out by his people, the church.

The challenge is how to connect the hurts and the help.

One of the most effective, but seldom used ways is with church and ministry business cards.

Here is how they can work

  1. On this site is a selection of FREE cards. Below are a few of them, at the end of the article all the ones available to download.
  2. Download the cards and then on the back put the resources available to help that your church has or that are available in your area.
  3. Give out the cards to people in your church to share as needed.
  4. BUT ALSO--what many churches have done is to make up the cards and then place them in restrooms at church, preferably INSIDE the stalls. When you do this, a person can pick up this small card (much better than a big brochure) and privately make use of the information on it. Churches that have done this have told me, "we replace the cards frequently."

Pray for the people who need the resources

You never know who might pick up a card. Perhaps someone traveling, someone visiting your church, perhaps a member living in pain or shame.

But the Lord knows and we can ask he direct people to the resources they need and that they will find healing and help.

Below are pictures of all the cards in this set. These cards and dozens more cards for you to invite people to church and other ministries HERE.

Paul’s challenge to church communicators: Proclaim the whole will of God

1 May, 2010 By Yvon Prehn Leave a Comment

In the Apostle Paul's farewell to the Ephesian elders, he gives us a summary of the responsibilities of leaders in church that also applies to those who lead in church communication:

For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God. 28Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. 29I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. 30Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. 31So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears. Acts 20-27-31

Though Paul shares a number of challenges we can apply in our work as church communicators, one of them is especially difficult to apply:

“For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.”

As we communicate God's messages to his church, we need to make certain we are taking time to communicate all of it, the difficult parts as well as the more pleasant and encouraging ones.

We don't seem to have trouble communicating the upbeat and the positive, quoting God's promises and blessings and we should do that. Those messages alone, however are not the whole will of God and if that is all we are communicating we will present a distorted picture of the Christian message.
