We all need encouragement and joy and that is where something as simple as a message on the wall or our desk or an encouragement sent through social media can inspire us and give us hope.

Inspirational sayings also make fantastic Christmas gifts. And because the ones I'm sharing below (and many more)  are FREE (which I greatly encourage you to take them as) or PWYW, (pay what you want) you can download and print them up in bulk for meaningful gifts for a church class, small group, or volunteers. I've done that many times with the church groups and individuals in my life.

I created the Bible805 Images shop so that you can do the same. In it I'm giving you Bible-inspired images (verses and sayings) I created that you can download and share directly on social media or print out, put into inexpensive frames, and share at every imaginable size and resolution, from 5×7 to standard 8.5×1/A4 sizes, to large posters, 24×36 or 30×30.

I do love the idea of Giving Tuesday but I must admit many of the ministry requests for giving in the midst of the crush of buying demands for Black Friday often felt like one more case of financial badgering.

I understand the need to raise funds whenever possible. When I was senior editor at both Compassion International and Young Life, I wrote many of those fund-raising appeals myself.

I thought about doing a plea for support for the Effective Church Communications Ministry. But I just couldn't add one more to an already lengthy list of the appeals you received from ministries doing truly important kingdom work. Then I realized......

An easy way to share our most important message at Christmas about Jesus. Click the image to download the Zip file and SHARE!

This story has been used by thousands of churches through the years and I created 4 new designs for you this year, that you can download as PDFs, plus a MS Word file, and use in any way you want to share the Gospel of Jesus at Christmas. You can use them in these ways:

  • Personalize from your church with invitations to specific events on the back or links to more information about what it means to follow Jesus.
  • Print and give as a gift to members to share in Christmas letters, give to friends, encourage them to use them.

A Christmas letter you can use to share Jesus with your church, friends, and family

A Christmas letter that explains the true meaning of Christmas is an essential outreach tool for your Christmas events.

We want our people to share their faith and this communication gives them an easy and non-threatening way to do it. One year, I posted the material below on our Adult Sunday School Class website and gave out a sample to our adult class. I printed the black and white image on a blue parchment-type paper. I encouraged them to go to the website and print it out for their Christmas letters and to share with friends. You are welcome to copy any or all of it and you can put them on your church or class website for your people to share.

Below the sample that I shared with my class are some color versions, spot-color separations, and versions that are in a tri-fold brochure format. All of these are available in two ZIP files at the end of this article. This letter/brochure or any other piece that clearly explains the reason for Christmas and the meaning of salvation in Jesus is essential for your church to share at all your holiday outreach events. Jesus came to save us from our sins, not to give us reasons to buy stuff or even so we can have wonderful family celebrations.
