FREE Outreach Card for Halloween, a challenge to think about life after death

9 October, 2012 By Yvon Prehn 2 Comments

Halloween Outreach Card, Side ONE
This card can be printed at home or church and used anywhere to get people to think about life after death and Jesus.

Here is a simple outreach card challenges people to think about life after death. This card can be printed quickly and easily on church copiers, digital duplicators, home inkjet, or laser printers. It is designed to be a give-away, a leave anywhere and everywhere, and as an opener for conversation. At the end of this blog is a zip file with an editable text file, editable MS Publisher files, ready-to-print PDFs and hi-res image versions of the cards.

There are two versions of the card:

1) ALL in One: the message is on one side and on the other side you could print contacts from your church or invitations to events to begin a discussion about the truth of life after death and the only person who conquered death: Jesus.Halloween Outreach Card, all in one version

2) Two-sided version: If your church does not have Halloween evangelism events (many churches don't for various reasons), you can still put these on your website and encourage people to print them at home and distribute them. These double-sided cards have both the challenge and websites for people to check out the truth about Jesus.

Halloween Outreach Card, Side ONEHalloween Outreach Card, SIDE TWO

One of my personal favorite guerrilla gospel-sharing tactics is to make up lots of these at home and then stash them in pumpkins, costumes, restrooms, or wherever I can in the Halloween super-stores or places like Target or Walmart.

You never know how God might use a little card to get someone to check out a website about Jesus.

Below is the text for the card. Below that is a PDF you can click to download and print out.

Text on the front of the card

Halloween, a fun time for tombstones, ghosts, and all things scary. . . . .
We can laugh at death when it’s part of a Halloween spook house, but we don’t laugh
when it touches someone we love or when we must face it—and that’s ahead of us all.
This Halloween, check out the one person in
all of history who conquered death—Jesus.
On the back of this card are resources to help.
Halloween is fun, but it’s also time to consider eternally serious and truly scary questions.

Text on the back of the card

Life is short; eternity is not.You owe it to yourself to carefully research what happens after you die. We believe your choice is between a literal, real heaven or hell—not a Halloween fantasy.
The sites below are about Jesus and the truth about life after death. Check them out—

Church Bulletin Insert motivation for your congregation to invite friends to church Halloween Events

8 October, 2012 By Yvon Prehn Leave a Comment

Halloween B Insert Photo
A bulletin insert to motivate your people to invite their friends for Halloween outreach events.

Many people forget that Halloween is a great time to share your faith. That's because it is one time of year when many people are thinking about death.

Though secular views are distorted, this provides an opportunity to start a discussion about the one person that conquered death--Jesus. To encourage your people to use this time of year to share their faith, I prepared this Halloween-themed bulletin insert.

It was designed to be used on a church bulletin insert, but it can be put into any regular communication with your congregation: email; newsletter, website, whatever you can think of, to motivate your people to use every event of the year as an opportunity to bring their friends to church and introduce them to Jesus. Halloween Outreach Videos and how to use them to reach unchurched people for Jesus

5 October, 2012 By Yvon Prehn Leave a Comment

Halloween Outreach video
Use this video to get people thinking about Jesus, the only person who conquered death.

Halloween is a fantastic time for evangelism outreach because everyone is talking about death and the supernatural. That makes it a perfect opportunity for you to engage unchurched people in a conversation about Jesus. The following are two versions of the same video that will help do that.

At the end of this article are download links to download HD versions of both videos for you to use in your Halloween Outreach. Do whatever you'd like with them.

The first one is a mellow one with Christian background music and soft fall graphics background.

The second one is a much more in-your-face with the music and a harsher graphics background—different ones for different audiences.

This video was created for you to share with your unchurched audience. Please download, share, link to your website. The other version of it has more mellow, church music if you prefer that.

Soft style of the video:

In-your-face style of the video:

Following is some information you can copy and share on your website after the video. It has a challenge for people to consider Jesus as well as websites for them to go to for more information. You have permission to copy, change, use however you want:

Why we need to share the gospel at Halloween and the tools to help you do that

18 October, 2011 By Yvon Prehn Leave a Comment

In church communications, we do what we do because we believe that the eternal destinies of people depends on how they respond to Jesus. We know that--but in the midst of long days and overwhelming demands it is easy to forget.

As we approach Halloween, I know this isn't a holiday most people think of as being particularly spiritually challenging, but it really is. At this time of year, everyone is thinking about and talking about the supernatural and that makes it one of the easiest times to bring up the topic of the one person who conquered death--Jesus.

Erasing hell, a great motivational book for Halloween outreach
This book provides great motivation for Halloween outreach because it is a reminder of the eternal consequences of our decisions about Jesus.

Francis Chan's and Preston Sprinkle's book, Erasing Hell. In addition to being a very well-researched and well-written book, I greatly appreciated the tone of the book, which is one of gracious, gentle conviction.

Though the tone is gentle, the topic is about one of the hard issues of our faith--the eternal destiny of people who die without Jesus as Savior. Universalism, the idea that eventually everybody goes to heaven, is the popular answer today (one of the great promoters of this being Rob Bell's book, Love Wins), but popular as the idea might be, as this book shows through careful historical facts and careful biblical exegesis, universalism is simply wrong.

As much as we might wish it were otherwise, the eternal destiny of every person--literally heaven or hell depends on what we do with Jesus. Your job is to make that clear and that is why your work in church communication is of extraordinary importance. We can do that with our church communications and below is a list of communication resources for Halloween.

The purpose of this website is to help you create communications that enable your church to fully fulfill the Great Commission. That is why we do all we do.
