I love church communicators! If there is a group that knows how to make lemonade out of lemons it is this one.
In responding to the sad news of Outreach trademarking B to C Sunday (I'm a bit paranoid to even write it), I got some very kind comments and really great responses and alternative ideas to get across the same message.
Though not for everyone, I think in many ways this from Sharon in Oregon was my favorite:
“Back to Church Sabbath” sounds good to us seventh day worshippers.
I think what I like about it is the gentle reminder of the many differences in the Body of Christ. I laughed out loud when I saw it because of how short-sighted I can be when I forget the wonderful creativity of many in church communications.
I also loved the response of a pastor, Dan Zemlicka, who coined the phrase "Back to School, Back to Church Sunday" though I think to be safe, it would be good to shorten it to simply:
"Back to School; Back to Church"
And then this one came in from Lindow Koop -- a great idea taking into consideration those who have never been to church:
How about "Come to Church Sunday" which I believe would be more appropriate since some have not even been to church and it would apply to all Sundays of the year. Just a thought to share.
Here's one more from Beverley Findlay:
See you at Church ⛪ Sunday! (Meaning I’ll be there also)
Church communicators have tremendous creativity and can do attitudes and I love it when you share your ideas—keep them coming on this and any other things you've found work well for your church in outreach or any other communication area.
