The Effective Church Communications website will be easier to find now with the shortcut: ecc.tips
I know the name of this ministry can be a pain in the neck to type out when you want the website: www.effectivechurchcom.com. It's not catchy and short like "Google" or "Amazon."
This has bothered me. I talk all the time about being clear and complete in your church communications and I felt I really needed to walk the talk on that. But, I couldn't think of a short, catchy name, so I opted for clarity in place of conciseness.
But even I got frustrated with it. It's so long to type out. Letters get transposed. Shortening to "communications" to "com" just isn't enough. And today when I was trying a new social media video creation system, the www.effectivechurchcom.com just didn't fit.
Long story short, I realized I could create a shorter URL and redirect it to the site!
So from now on when I need a shorter link in social media or other situations, I'll put in: www.ecc.tips and it will take you directly to this site. Or if you remember you need a template or some other resource, just type in www.ecc.tips and here you are!
I got this domain name from www.godaddy.com. It is one of the new top-level domain names, like .com, .org, .net. This is .tips and it seems appropriate for Effective Church Communications (ECC). There are literally thousands of new top-level domains, and various registrars have authority to sell different ones.
GoDaddy also has access to sell you the .church extension. Go to: https://www.godaddy.com/tlds/church-domain to find out more.
Remember ECC doesn't take any advertising or participate in affiliate programs; I only recommend what I like and what has worked for me. I have used GoDaddy as my domain registrar for many years and have been very happy with them. I host my sites with the Christian and very capable hosting company www.agathon.com and it's been very easy to work with them, to do redirects, and whatever else I've wanted to with my domain names. They have fantastic, helpful 24/7 support—a bit pushy on some sales items, but just doing their job on that.
