How to create a website with WordPress, the basics, a Webinar On-Demand
WordPress.com is a free and extremely flexible way to create websites for your church or ministry. In this replay of the Webinar on how to create a website with WordPress, I divided the steps you need to take to create the videos into six separate videos. In addition to the videos, I did 2 formats of the PDFs of the entire set of videos for you.
One of them is a set of full-size screen shots (to make some of the smaller images easier to see and one is the usual set of 3 screen shots per page. Click on either image below to download the full PDFs.
Both the sets of notes PDFs and the videos below are for ECC Members. For information on how to become a member of Effective Church Communications and have access to all the materials, videos, PDFs an e-books, 24/7, click here.

Question, I have both a com and an org site. Niether one includes the items you show under appearance in part 4. i.e. background. Does this have to do with the template I am using or some other setting. Under appearance I have – Themes, widgets, menus, extras, header, typekit fonts, and edit CSS.
John,
It has to do with the template.
Go into the “Appearance” section in your dashboard and click “themes.”
That brings up the options. The theme/template I am using is: Twenty Ten.
It is fairly new and WordPress has added a lot of options for it that were not available in the past.
Give it a try–it is really a great theme!
